Drug Rehab for Clients from Zimbabwe

Medical detox and residential treatment in Cape Town, with admission usually within 24 to 48 hours.

When drug use has reached the point where a family is frightened, waiting for a place in treatment is the last thing anyone needs. Hillhouse Clinics is a licensed residential rehab in Cape Town with no waiting list, and we regularly admit clients from Harare, Bulawayo and across Zimbabwe.

Treatment starts with a medically supervised detox and continues with daily individual therapy, group work and a family programme. Clients from Zimbabwe pay Primary Care: approximately USD 1,504.80 per week for eight weeks in Cape Town. Re-entry: approximately USD 1,128.60 per week for four weeks near Harare. Full 12-week programme: approximately USD 16,552.80, all-inclusive with no additional programme costs..

    • Admission usually within 24 to 48 hours of an assessment
    • Medically supervised detox with 24-hour nursing care
    • Daily individual psychotherapy alongside group therapy
    • Psychiatric review for depression, anxiety and psychosis
    • Family programme with remote sessions for relatives in Zimbabwe
    • Twelve months of aftercare once your loved one returns home

    Which drugs we treat

We treat dependence on methamphetamine (including mutoriro and crystal meth), cannabis, cocaine, heroin, codeine-based cough syrups, prescription painkillers and sedatives, and combinations of these with alcohol.

Each substance carries its own withdrawal risks. Our medical team assesses this on admission and adjusts the detox plan daily, so nobody goes through withdrawal unsupervised.

Why treatment outside Zimbabwe can help

Distance from the people, places and suppliers connected to drug use gives a person room to stabilise. Many families also value the discretion of treatment away from their home community.

Cape Town is a short regional flight away, and relatives can join family sessions online from home.

What happens after the first call

We start with an assessment by phone, video or in person in Harare. We then agree a treatment plan and an admission date, and help the family arrange travel to Cape Town.
