Our clinical treatment is centered on you personally: letting go of your past, creating a sustainable recovery and gratitude for what your future may hold. Our programme is always 12 weeks, to allow you to dive deep into where your pain lies.
Four pillars of recovery
Evidence-based therapy
CBT, DBT, the Matrix Model, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care delivered by clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists and addiction counsellors.
Holistic healing
Trauma release exercise, meditation, yoga, Nia dance therapy, art therapy, fitness, mountain hikes and volunteer programmes. Besides that, we also have licensed acupuncturists, physiotherapists and dieticians available on request should you need them.
12-step integration
An abstinence-based programme where the 12 steps form an integral part of our treatment philosophy and aftercare network.
Individualised path
We do not expect any client to follow the same path. Your treatment plan is tailored to who you are, where you come from and where you want to go.
Four phases, one path
Grounding, Assessment & Detox
Weeks 1 – 2In your first two weeks you'll settle into the programme, get accustomed to the community and the people, and we'll assist you with any detox that you may still require.
Primary Treatment
12 weeksWhen you first arrive, you stay at Home 01, our shared treatment location. Our clinical team selects the Primary Care or Integrated Care treatment path according to your needs. Both paths are delivered here, and clinical treatment may take your full 12 weeks, depending on your progress.
Re-entry
When readyWhen your clinical team feels you are ready, you may move to Home 02, our Re-entry residence, to practise the tools and behaviours you developed during treatment. Some clients need the full 12 weeks at Home 01. Home 02 was formerly the Integrated Care location; there is no third residence.
Aftercare, Recovery Coaching & Sober Living
Up to 1 yearWhen you finish your treatment, you will have two choices: either move into a safe and substance-free living facility in the Netherlands — generally one of our sister company Phase 1's homes — or choose recovery guidance. The recommended period is up to one year.

Both share the same foundation of evidence-based and holistic care, with different levels of clinical support tailored to individual needs. Home 02 is our Re-entry residence for the next stage of recovery.
Primary Care
Our core residential programmeA nurturing, structured environment for clients seeking recovery from addiction. Combines clinical therapy, holistic healing and the 12-step philosophy in a small, intimate community.
Integrated Care
For more complex clinical needsBuilt around the same programme, with extra clinical depth for clients facing additional challenges such as ADHD, ASD, trauma or PTSD alongside their addiction. More tailored support, same warm community.

At Hillhouse Clinics, we will always sponsor you if you carry the desire to stop using. We do this because we believe in shining the greatest possible light into your darkness, so your chance of lasting recovery is the greatest it can be.
Your health insurer reimburses a maximum of 8 weeks — and often only 6 — and even within those first weeks they only cover a portion of the cost. Hillhouse Clinics sponsors the remainder of that reimbursement, which can quickly add up to thousands of euros.
We also believe that anything less than 12 weeks is simply not enough to give you the most optimal chance of recovery — so we sponsor the remaining 4 to 6 weeks of your treatment as well.
Above all, we are deeply grateful that so many health insurers believe in the way we work and consider us eligible for reimbursement — and we believe in you.
